2025 Term 3 Week 9
This weekend, we wish our Year Six students the very best as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. As a school community, we will continue to keep them—and their families and sponsors—in our prayers. We invite you to join us in the prayer below.
Loving God,
We give thanks for our Confirmation students as they prepare for this important step in their faith journey this weekend.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen them, filling their hearts with wisdom, courage, and joy.
May they grow in love for You and in service to others, living as true witnesses of Christ in the world.
Bless their families, teachers, and sponsors who walk beside them with care and encouragement.
Grant that this sacred day may deepen their faith and inspire them to follow Jesus with open hearts.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Three stars shine at the Archdiocesan Public Speaking Competition!!
We were thrilled to have three students—Sasha Hans, Carter Wykes and Bonaventure Williams—represent the Northern Region and St Joseph’s Goulburn at the Archdiocesan Public Speaking Competition. Travelling to Sacred Heart Central School, Cootamundra, they represented St Joseph's and the Region exceptionally well. We’re delighted to share that Sasha and Bonaventure each received first place. We’re incredibly proud of Sasha, Carter and Bon's hard work, courage, and commitment. Congratulations to all three, and thank you to the staff and families who supported their preparation.
Visit from our Executive Director
We were delighted to welcome our Executive Director, Mr David De Carvahlo, to St Joseph’s last week. He visited classrooms across the school and was impressed by the rich learning on display. He commented on the high-impact teaching occurring in our classes and enjoyed engaging conversations with both staff and students. We thank Mr De Carvahlo for his time and encouragement.
Walkathon—thank you & final reminders
Thank you to the families who have already supported our Walkathon, helping us raise funds for a new PA system and gazebos. We’re looking forward to next Thursday when we’ll make our way to North Park for a day of fun activities, teamwork, and fundraising.
Reminders:
-
Students are to wear their sports uniform including school hat on the day.
-
A BBQ lunch will be provided.
-
Please return donations by Thursday next week.
- If any parent or carer is able to assist our staff on the day, ie with the BBQ or support with activities please let the front office know. Your support is always greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your ongoing support!
We look forward to this Friday's 5B Assembly
Kinder Blue’s first assembly — bravo!
Congratulations to our wonderful Kinder Blue students and Miss Wellings on their very first assembly. Our youngest learners showed great courage stepping up to the microphone and speaking so clearly. Highlights included energetic action songs, a beautiful prayer inspired by St Brigid, and thoughtful presentations of their learning—including reflections from our 100 Days of Kindergarten celebration. We’re so proud of their confidence, teamwork, and joy. Well done, Kinder Blue! Further congratulations to Beau on receiving his Leadership Badge, to James and Hazel on their Principal’s Award, and to all other award recipients on the day. We’re very proud of you all!
Community Council Trivia Night-early next term! Please refer to the Community Council section of the newsletter for details. It’ll be a great night out for everyone—further information to come!
On Air With Eagle FM
We recently had more of our students reading the weather on Eagle FM. It was wonderful to hear Chelsea share her experiences in representative hockey, and Bonaventure offer tips on what makes a great public speaker. Both did a fantastic job—clear, confident, and engaging. Well done!
Privilege Students
May God bless you and your families

Canteen News
Volunteers most welcome, please email the canteen canteen.sjglb@cg.catholic.edu.au
Our school canteen is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Orders need to be placed by Qkr! before 8:30am on the day of order.
Whilst we understand accidents happen it does place a large strain on our canteen and office staff to assist in these situations.
To try to avoid this, please follow some of the steps below:
- How to order – place your order using the Qkr! app or write on a paper bag and send the order in with your child.
- Order on the app and confirm the date that you have selected is for the day you require.
- If your child is selecting the food please check it before you confirm the order (we now need to limit garlic bread to students as some were ordering up to 10 in one order)
- If your child is absent and no longer is required to receive the order please cancel prior to 8:30am on the day of order.
You can receive a Qkr credit note if you tap on the 3 lines at the top left of the home screen, select ‘my receipts’ and then select the order you wish to cancel. - If your child doesn’t have a lunch and they realise before 10:00am a phone call will be made to parents to ask them to bring lunch to school for them.
If you are unable we will provide your child with a basic sandwich (vegemite or cheese) and an IOU envelope will be sent home. - IOU’s - if your child brings home an IOU envelope please either return the envelope with cash payment or alternatively you can pay for it via Qkr using the “Canteen Outstanding Amounts”
- If you are unaware of the amount currently outstanding to your child please email canteen.sjglb@cg.catholic.edu.au and we can advise.
- There is a limit of $10 for over the counter purchases. Please do not send your child in with more than this as we will not accept $50 or $20 notes.
If you need to contact the school about lunch orders, please email canteen.sjglb@cg.catholic.edu.au or contact the school office 4821 3510 before 9:30 am.
If you are able to volunteer in the canteen please contact the office or email the canteen.sjglb@cg.catholic.edu.au with your availability.
