Principal's Message

Dear Parents & Carers,
Last week, we came together in faith to celebrate All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. Our Year 3–6 students joined with the Year 3–6 students from Ss Peter and Paul’s for a special All Saints’ Mass, honouring the saints who inspire us through their lives of faith, courage, and service.

For All Souls’ Day, we remember our loved ones and gave thanks for the lives of those who have gone before us — family members, friends, and members of our wider community. These moments of prayer and reflection remind us of the hope we have in Christ and the promise of eternal life.

    Prayer for All Souls’ Day

    Loving God,
We remember all who have gone before us — those we have known and loved, and those who have no one to remember them by name.
May they rest in the peace of Your presence, surrounded by Your eternal love.
Comfort those who mourn, strengthen our faith, and help us to live each day with kindness and compassion.
    Amen.

    Kinder 2026: First Big Step!

Today our very new 2026 Kindergarten students packed their bags and joined our wonderful community for the very first time! They settled quickly into classroom activities and even joined us for lunch during their first Kinder Orientation.  Several children told me they’d already made new friends and had a great day. A few parents also shared that their child had had their bag packed for over a week, ready for today—and they’re already excited to buy and try on their new uniform for next year!

Last Wednesday evening, our School Captains Rupert and Gracie and Vice Captains Charlotte and Elijah delivered the highlight of the evening, a warm, entertaining and confident presentation at the Kinder 2026 Parent Information Night, reminding everyone of the amazing opportunities and caring community we share at St Joseph’s. A huge thank you to Mrs Attard and Ms Wellings (our 2026 Kindergarten Teachers), Tamara Craig (Community Council Chair), Lauren Whalan (Uniform Shop Manager), Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Schultz, Mrs Cady, and Mrs Gerrard for generously giving their time to share important information with our new families.

We’re so excited to welcome our newest students and look forward to witnessing their joy, curiosity, and wonder they will bring to St Joseph’s in 2026!

Top Moves at the Northern Region Chess Competition

Last week, four of our talented students represented St Joseph’s at the Northern Region Chess Competition, proudly flying the school flag with focus, determination, and great sportsmanship.

Scarlett Dillon, Olivia Tarnowski, John Edwards, and Jamie Miller all competed strongly throughout the day, winning several games and demonstrating excellent teamwork and respect for their opponents.

We are thrilled to share that Scarlett and Olivia both finished as runners-up in their respective divisions, and St Joseph’s placed third overall—a fantastic achievement!

All four competitors thoroughly enjoyed the experience and represented our school with pride. A big thank you to Mrs Walsh for accompanying the students and providing wonderful support throughout the day at Mount Carmel.

    Well done, team!

    Reminder: 2025 School Fees

As we approach the end of the 2025 school year, we kindly remind all families to ensure that all outstanding school fees are settled before December 31, 2025.

Timely payment of fees allows the school to continue providing quality education, resources, and activities for our students. If you are unsure about your current balance or need assistance with payment arrangements, please contact the school office on 02 4821 3510.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and your continued support of our school community.

    Talent on Show!

Our Talent Showcase is on Friday and our students can’t wait to shine. We look forward to 'plenty of talent and plenty of smiles.' Thanks in advance to children performing!
