Communicating with Parents
The Newsletter is issued weekly on a Wednesday. It carries a regular Religious Education News report, notes from the Principal and a variety of notices. Notices for the newsletter should be sent to the front office no later than the Monday prior to publication.
Contact With the School
Parents are always welcome to visit St Joseph's to speak to the Principal, Assistant Principal, Learning Support (Special Needs) teacher or class teachers. It has been our experience that, when free and open communication is maintained, any perceived problems are more readily resolved.
For practical reasons it is essential that an appointment be made for all such meetings, except in an emergency. The school secretary can arrange an appointment with the Principal or Assistant Principal at a time convenient to both parties.
Appointments to see one of the teachers should be made for out of teaching hours, which are before 9:00am or after 3:30pm, and can be done via a note, or by contacting the teacher directly.
Compass App
St Joseph’s has the Compass app as our preferred form of communication. Please download the app and join the boxes associated with your child’s class. Passwords are available from the office or by emailing Danie This email address is being protected from spambots. All notes, class reminders and newsletters will be placed on the app. If you have any issues accessing Compass please pop into the office to see Danie.
Formal home-school contact
Formal reports on student progress will be sent out via Compass at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2 each year. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to attend Parent/Teacher Interviews usually in week 9 of Term 1.
